Welcome to the Surrey Sharks Field Hockey Club web site.
The Surrey Sharks Field Hockey Club was established in 1995 and is based in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Our home is the field hockey specific, water-based turf facility at Tamanawis Athletic Park.
The primary goals of our club are:
- To promote the sport of field hockey in the Province of British Columbia, regardless of age, ability or sex of participants
- To promote good sportsmanship and to emphasize fair play
- To foster respect for players, coaches, managers, officials and spectators
2018 International Masters’ World Cup - Madrid
You’d look good in red and white! Canada sent its first women’s team (an Over 50 side) to the International Masters’ World Cup in Canberra in April, 2016. The next World Cup is in Madrid, Spain in July of 2018 (the dates suggested are the 20th – 29th). The official age levels for the teams are Over 40, Over 45, Over 50, Over 55 and Over 60.
Field Hockey Canada is hoping to send more teams to this event and will soon be posting an announcement on its website (fieldhockey.ca) about the Madrid competition. The approximate cost, excluding airfare, is $2,400 and includes entry fee, kit, accommodation and transportation in Madrid from hotel to venue.
